Ministries
Athletic Ministry
This team focuses on providing opportunities for athletic competition in a Christian
atmosphere. Activities include: basketball, golf, softball, and volleyball.
Audio/Visual Ministry
This team strives to enhance the quality of worship by assisting in the flow of
worship and maintaining the audio/visual equipment. They provide sound and visual
assistance for all worship services. Training is available for anyone who is interested.
Benevolence Ministry
This ministry offers assistance to those in need from time to time. We assist families
in the church and the local community. Assistance is usually financial, though we
do work with local agencies and sometimes offer advice on how to “hook up” with
available community programs. Members of this team usually meet 3-4 times a year
with frequent phone contact when applications are received.
Building and Grounds
This team maintains the church building and property. They ensure that the grounds
are clean and inviting to welcome our guests.
Drama Ministry
This team performs dramatic presentations that offer insight into biblical concepts
and enhance the sermon topics. Productions include plays, sermon skits, and dramas.
Education Ministry
This team prepares semester education programs for the Sunday School and Children’s
Church classes. They also recruit and encourage teachers.
50+ Group Ministry
This team plans and carries out activities and ministry projects for those fifty
years of age and over. Activities include: a monthly service at Heritage Hall, quarterly
birthday dinners and weekly bowling, plus various activities including monthly day
trips.
Finance and Stewardship
This team manages the financial gifts received by Belmont and ensures the effective
use of all gifts for the glory of Christ.
Grief Recovery Support Ministry
This team strives to share the love of Christ to those grieving within the church
family and the surrounding community.
Health Ministry Team
The Parish Nurse Ministry assists with the basic health needs of those within the
congregation. They visit the sick and elderly and assist with general health care.
The goal of this ministry is to promote the Christian faith and advocate good health
care.
Helping Hands Ministry
This team prepares meals for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one and
provides aid to those who are ill.
The James Gang (Special Needs Ministry)
This group assists widows and the elderly with household repairs and maintenance,
when they are unable to do the work for themselves. The guiding Scripture for this
team is James 1:27.
Missions Ministry
The Missions Team informs the congregation of new mission opportunities and activities.
They arrange for short-term mission trips and encourage others to support missionaries
around the globe.
Outreach Ministry
This team decorates the bulletin boards and informs the congregation regarding Thanksgiving
contributions for Grundy Mountain Mission. They also assist with holiday decorations.
They stay in contact with the elderly and shut-ins through regular visits, cards,
and telephone calls.
Recreation and Fellowship Ministry
This team strives to strengthen the bond among believers by providing fellowship
opportunities within the church body. This includes preparing the Fellowship Hall
for various activities and providing refreshments.
Special Ministries
This team assists church members with special needs and plans activities for them
including outreach opportunities.
Transportation Ministry
This team maintains the church vehicles and ensures they are in proper working order.
They also provide driver training and transportation for all church activities.
They ensure that proper driving laws and regulations are followed for the safety
of the passengers.
Usher/Greeter Ministry
This team serves to make everyone who attends our services feel welcome. They provide
a church bulletin to each attendee and offer directional and seating assistance
to visitors.
Worship and Music Ministry
This team concentrates on the worship of Christ our Lord. The ministry includes
leading worship through music, songs, DVD, communion preparation, and planning special
holiday services.
